ChangeXperience - Erika Bezzo - The interviews

Cross-Cultural Leadership

In our increasingly connected and global world, we are more and more often in contact with people who belong to different cultures, we are confronted with ways of communicating, of managing time and relationships very far from the ways we are used to. Our interlocutors have expectations, values, beliefs, and visions of the world that we cannot imagine at all.

The management of projects in multicultural contexts requires awareness of the typical behaviours and values of one's own culture, the curiosity to understand the culture of the other, the ability to listen to what is not said and that dose of empathy that allows you to see the world through the eyes of the other.Emotional intelligence and cultural intelligence are therefore indispensable elements for effective cross-cultural leadership.

Referring to Hofstede's model of cultural comparison, I made a series of interviews, which aims to offer food for thought and examples of female leadership through the experience of women who have successfully carried out projects in multicultural contexts where the diversity management proves to be of fundamental importance.
